Whether or not a traffic stop is justified and regardless of what the officer or officers say regarding this, there are several things you could do that might save your life: 1. Comply with the officer's orders whether you like it or not. 2. Do not make any sudden moves and if you are instructed to raise you hands do so and keep them raised even if your nose itches or any other reason. 3. Do not automatically reach in your glove compartment. 4. If you have a gun or guns in the car tell the officer at the beginning. Phrase it in a way that is non-threatening. "Officer, I wanted to let you know that I have a gun in the glove compartment." Or, "Officer, I wanted to let you know I have a gun on the seat beside me." Make sure you hands are in clear view at all times. 5. Make sure any passengers in your car also do as you do. Coach them while you are pulling over at the beginning of the stop. 5.
